I've worked as a Software Process Engineer, a Training Director, a Software Designer in Quality Assurance, as well as a Development Manager, and way back when, cut a few (hundred thousand) lines of code. I'm currently working on writing Managing Requirements with Don Gause, a book about how to do requirements. In addition to my consulting practice, I've served as a program chair for the 1997 SEPG Conference (sponsored by the SEI and the Silicon Valley SPIN) and as program chair for the IEEE Computer Society's 1998 International Conference on Requirements Engineering. Check out the attendees' questions from ICRE'98!
I was a guest editor of the March/April 1998 issue of IEEE Software which is focused on requirements engineering.
I have an MS is Computer Science and a BA in Psychology. I was once also Secretary of the Software Inspection and Review Organization (SIRO), a member of the ACM, and the IEEE Computer Society. I'm a participant in Jerry Weinberg's 1996 Software Engineering Management Group.
In 2000, I served as the editor for Software Testing & Quality Engineering Magazine, now titled Better Software. Their associated website stickyminds.com is one of the better places to learn about software quality approaches.
