Code Freeze Milestone

Objectives of this Checklist

This is primarily the end of changes to the product. After Code Freeze, SQE will do any final testing. Upon successful completion of testing the project will then be released. At some point prior to Code Freeze the Product Team may want to establish criteria and processes for changes to the product in order to produce a Code Freeze Candidate.

General checklist

• Review all deferred bugs.
• Resolve and verify all Beta exceptions.
• All components have achieved Engineering Release.
• Schedule needed personnel and equipment to execute the ER disk production procedures.
• Create all ER media for final regression tests.
• The ER Requirements Document must exit inspection.

After Code Freeze Approval:

• Notify Manufacturing of the expected ER date.
• The Product Team documents a list of improvements and deviations from the Product Life Cycle.

Development checklist

• Resolve all bug reports.
• The bug fix trend since Beta has a negative slope.
• Verify that the product meets the performance criteria defined in the FPS.
• Verify that the product meets disk space requirements defined in the FPS.
• All relevant tasks specified in the Development Plan are complete.

SQE checklist

• Verify all bug reports.
• The bug found trend since Beta must have a negative slope.
• Execute all functional and stress tests defined in the Test Procedures.
• Execute all system tests defined in the Test Procedures.
• SQE has a plan for the regression testing of the code freeze release.
• Complete development and execution of all other tests specified in the Quality Plan.

Publications checklist

• Complete all on-line documentation (including help, tutorials, screenshows, demos, and sample files).

International checklist

• Revisit localization release schedule.
